Peanut Butter Protein Balls recipe

1 1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (or nut butter of choice)
1/2 cup honey
1 portion vanilla protein powder (I used I scoop of vanilla protein powder from Clean Simple Eats)
1/4 cup mini m&ms

add all ingredients to a medium bowl
scoop protein balls onto a baking sheet and put in fridge or freezer to harden

Directions

  • Place peanut butter, protein powder, rolled oats, honey, and mini M&Ms into a medium bowl.
  • Use a wooden spoon or hands to mix the dough together. At this point, begin to add water by the teaspoon.
  • Depending on how liquid your peanut butter is, you may need to add water. Water will helps moisten things so your balls hold shape, it can also help your balls be less chalky if that is an issue.
  • Use a 1 tablespoon cookie scoop to scoop dough into your palms. Roll into balls until all dough is gone.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to a week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Are protein balls good for you?

Yes is the short answer to this question. Protein balls are good for you if you eat them in moderation! Have one protein ball as a snack, for breakfast, or right after a workout.

Why aren’t my protein balls sticking together?

If your protein balls are not sticking together you probably need to add a little bit more moisture. Add a teaspoon of water at a time until your protein balls stick together to form a ball! If your peanut butter isn’t very liquidy, you might try heating up a bit before adding.

How do I make Protein Balls all the same size?

You can make sure all your protein balls are the same size by using a cookie dough scooper or a tablespoon!

Can I store protein balls in the freezer?

Yes! Freeze protein balls on a cookie sheet to harden and then place them all in a freezer safe bag and store them in the freezer!
