Easy Firecracker Chicken for a Quick Dinner
Easy Firecracker chicken is a tasty way to eat ground chicken and this recipe is so quick. In just 20 minutes you can have a healthy meal that is a little sweet with a spark of heat. I love to mix up a large batch so I can have leftovers for lunches right at my fingertips.
Easy Firecracker Chicken Recipe
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce (original)
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tsp minced ginger
- 1½ tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Combine all ingredients and stir to mix, making sure sugar is completely dissolved. Toss with browned ground chicken to coat and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Serving Options
I served my firecracker chicken with regular rice but this recipe is really versatile. First, if you don’t have ground chicken on hand, the firecracker sauce is equally as good on ground turkey, pork or even beef.
Serve your dressed meat over cauliflower rice if you are on a low carb diet or make it into lettuce wraps by adding some shredded carrots and maybe some water chestnuts or jicama for a little crunch. In the mood for noodles? Add meat to some cooked rice noodles and top with sauce and some chopped scallions for a tasty asian inspired noodle dish.
