What is calzone?

calzone is an Italian oven-baked folded pizza, often described as a turnover, made with leavened dough. It originated in Naples in the 18th century.

Is crescent dough the same as pizza dough?

Pizza dough and crescent dough are not exactly the same but may be substituted for each other in this recipe. Crescent dough will yield a flakier, softer crust. If you can’t find the tube of crescent dough sheets, you can substitute regular crescent dough by pinching together the seams.

Hope you find this recipe as fun and yummy as we do. Kids love to help out in the kitchen and I think this recipe is a great one for them to help with as they can easily customize this own.
